Volvo Cars Vision 2020

Heartfelt messages woven into human stories using technology and innovation was the theme at Volvo Cars Geneva International Motor Show 2015 stand. The Techno Creatives built a friendly and informative augmented reality AR experience that informed Volvo guests about the bold vision for the year 2020.

Value

Explaining what's to come in the near future and the commitment one makes to be ready for this projected future is difficult. Nevertheless, explaining future scenarios through a gamified lens does make it easier for anyone to understand the value of one's commitments.

An intuitive experience resulting in direct access for visitors

Visitors at the Geneva International Motor Show were directed towards a circular table that displayed an image of the earth on which a few iPads were placed. On picking up the devices they immediately were able to engage with a stunning Augment Reality experience.

A multimodal experience, for both young and old

The experience was made complete with sounds and narrated stories that as the guests saw the stories unfold in front of them on the table.

Visualising bold corporate statements through storytelling

They experienced three heartfelt stories in three different languages about how if not for Volvo Cars, their future could have been very different. One such story is about how a woman steered clear of danger because her Volvo took control of the dangerous situation by manoeuvring her away from imminent impact using advanced sensor capabilities within her Volvo. She was not just lucky, she made the right choice, because only Volvo can commit to a bold statement of safety that by the year 2020 no one would be killed or seriously injured in any new Volvo.
